Do not buy Sony Xperia Z1 compact!

by Jaakko Nissiat 2014-03-01 08:41:37

Now that I've caught your attention, by all means; Go buy Sony Xperia Z1 compact. It's an awesome little phone. Emphasis is on the word little.

As a previous phone I had Galaxy Nexus, which itself wasn't too large in itself but I had refrained from getting any of the newer phones just because they are either underpowered (Think "mini") or just way too large for my hands/pockets/mental health. I had to think smaller and the compact provides by being a few millimeters smaller than the GNexus in just about every dimension.

And as the specs go it's real fast, even to the extreme of feeling snappy, the camera seems to take real quality pictures (Best I've seen in a mobile phone.) and the screen looks gorgeous. Even the battery seems to last forever (disclaimer: Forever in the mobile battery world means anything more than eight hours.).

There actually is only one real downside to the phone and it's the backside, pun intented. If you are allergic to scratches on your shiny gadgets (I'm not) get something else. I've only had the phone for two weeks and there already is several visible scratches on the plastic back of the phone.

I was actually thinking of publishing a mod that would make the backside a bit more scratch resistant, but maybe I should get someone else's Z1 compact as the victim of the mod... Any volunteers?

3 Xperia devices have been suopprt by the flash tool, they are Xperia S, Xperia Arc, and Xperia Arc S. But since the tool is in beta version, so hopefully Sony will

Hi Clare!Great to hear from a fellow Leeds Met PR sdenutt! Although I am a little surprised to hear I'm being talked about! I had no idea! I'm glad to hear you like my blog, yours is looking really good! Lots of people don't even bother filling in an about me page which is really the only way to let people know who you are, and what you're about! So well done on taking the time to make your blog more personal. You already know that experience is incredibly important for our course (I'm sure the lecturers have stressed it a lot already!) and I'm impressed to see you've already got some work experience under your belt! My advice is to try and get as much experience as possible, and maybe try different sectors; this will help you decide what you might fancy going into after Uni. Also make sure you keep up the blog! Blogging can really help you to get your name out there, and can even result in you being head hunted! It helps to increase your contacts, which are bound to help in the future. Check out the guest blog post I did for Karen Russel's blog Teaching PR for more tips on getting some good internships! Hope it's helpful! Speak soon, Nat

Sony’s Xperia Z comes with a 13MP camera, whraees the Note II offers 8MP. The truth is, either camera will take very good photos. However, it must be said that on paper, the Xperia Z has the superior snapper. Both handsets have an LED focus and flash, plus 1080p video recording. We should mention that the Xperia Z has continuous autofocus when recording, which should make for even better footage.a0 In terms of front facing cameras, the Xperia Z again comes out on top with its 2.2MP camera, which includes the same Exmor R lens technology that benefits the rear cam. The Note 2 still fairs well with its 1.9MP front camera, which will be more than enough for the majority of users. You can check out sample video footage for either handset on the Clove YouTube channel. There are also some early Xperia Z photo samples available here.
